Professional Background
Q: What are your core values?
A: Ethics and hard work are my guiding principles. I believe in maintaining integrity and putting in the effort to achieve outstanding results in all my personal and professional endeavors. We are all trying to get from A to B ethically and efficiently, and the path isn’t always linear. Empathy and curiosity, along with understanding and accepting diverse work styles and thought processes, are crucial to creative breakthroughs in the dynamic field of marketing.
Q: Can you tell us about your professional background?
A: I have a degree in Public Relations with a minor in Advertising, complemented by over 30 years of experience in marketing strategy and execution. I began my career at Wumdernan working on the American Express Corporate Card. From that point, I’ve been passionate about data, research, and testing. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on delivering the right message to the right consumer at the right time. With today’s technology, I can change customer behaviors more effectively and efficiently. I am fortunate to have worked for some of the world’s best brands and with some of the brightest minds in the industry.
Q: What is your favorite part of this business?
A: Without a doubt, it is the creative process. There is nothing like seeing a strategy that I’ve developed reflected in the creative process. The key here is to involve your creative lead at the beginning of the strategic development. They will add tremendous value and are able to help you maintain the strategy throughout execution and refinement. I often see ads online or on TV and note when there was clearly a strong strategy behind the creative. Congratulations to those peers!
Q: How would you describe your professional skills and capabilities?
A: I am a strategic thinker with hands-on execution experience. My skills include strategic planning, primary and secondary research, data analysis, marketing strategies, and customer journey mapping and tracking. I have a proven track record of managing complex projects for some of the world’s biggest and best brands, leading teams through challenging situations and delivering results.

A: I leverage advanced technology, such as wearable tech for fitness and AI-driven marketing tools, to enhance efficiency and insights. However, I equally value the human elements of empathy, creativity, and collaboration. Balancing these aspects ensures we achieve holistic and sustainable success.

A: My experience spans both account management and strategy, providing me with a comprehensive understanding of the big picture and hands-on execution. I believe in a holistic marketing approach, integrating tech and omnichannel strategies. A: Staying ahead in marketing requires continuous learning and adaptation. I regularly participate in industry conferences, webinars, and workshops. I also follow leading marketing publications and thought leaders to stay informed about the latest trends and technologies, such as advancements in AI, programmatic advertising, and data analytics.

A: Customer journey mapping is crucial for understanding and optimizing the customer experience. It involves mapping out all the touchpoints a customer interacts with from awareness to post-purchase. By analyzing these interactions, we can identify pain points and opportunities for improvement, ultimately leading to more effective marketing strategies and higher customer satisfaction.
Q: How do you stay ahead and gain an edge in the marketing industry?
A: I stay ahead by continuously learning and adapting to new trends in the digital marketing landscape. Using various tools in my personal technology stack, I’m able to keep on top of the latest trends, technology, regulations, and more. I capture them in my knowledge database and have the information readily handy. With hands-on experience with a majority of marketing technical categories, I’m able to easily process how the new technology could enhance a current or planned marketing stack or communications flow.
